An extremely rare and exceptional Art Deco credenza or bar cabinet designed in 1984 by Pierre Paulin for Baker Furniture. The credenza features gorgeous bird’s-eye maple wood grain with walnut inlays in the signature motif for the Paulin Collection. Made with the highest quality craftsmanship, as expected from Baker. Wood grain is exquisite. All drawers lock, and the original key is included. The credenza has been refinished and is in excellent condition.
In the mid-1980s, Baker retained Pierre Paulin to design a singular collection of furniture. Paulin stated he took inspiration from the interiors of the Elysee Palace that he had completed for Georges Pompidou and François Mitterand. The resulting venture proved costly, and only a rarefied few of the Paulin pieces were created.
